Uber Invests $100M in Robotaxi Charging Infrastructure, Stock Rises 2.7%
Uber Technologies surged 2.69% to $72.43 following its announcement of a $100 million investment in autonomous vehicle charging infrastructure. The initiative targets high-capacity fast-charging stations in key U.S. markets including the Bay Area, Los Angeles, and Dallas.
The MOVE accelerates Uber's transition toward green mobility and efficient fleet operations. Strategic partnerships with EVgo and Electra will support the deployment of charging hubs designed for both Uber's autonomous fleet and future public robotaxi services.
By 2026, Uber plans to expand its robotaxi operations to 10 cities globally. The company has already secured commitments with autonomous vehicle manufacturers including Lucid and Wayve, positioning itself at the forefront of the self-driving revolution.
